As the primary backer of HD DVD, Toshiba spent a lot of money developing technology that they didn't get a lot of use out of. Some features from HD DVD players, like upscaling, fit nicely into standard DVD players. Others, like web-enabled content, aren't quite as applicable. Sure you could put the same capabilities into a DVD player, but with no official standard you'd be hard pressed to get anyone to take advantage of it.

I support your stand with relation to CA. I've been looking for a new 1911 style handgun and everything I've heard/seen is that STI is it. My next purchase will be STI gbased upon their stance with CA. If only more manufacturers would take stances like yours! Plus, ya can't go wrong with the company that is homebased where generations of my immmediate family came from. Go Southwestern and Go STI!

I've done a great deal of shooting and STI guns are the best. Everything you'd want in a competition pistol, STI has got it. My first STI unit was an Edge in .40 S&W. That gun was sweet!

Dear Sir:

I would very much like to see your Texican SAA in .357 magnum, 7.5 inch barrel. I will buy one immediately upon availability. Also, your current plastic grips don't match the superior quality of the Texican - I suggest you offer smooth walnut grips, at least as an option.

I plan to buy your product over Ruger, USFA, etc., because:
1. I think you have a superior products, but very importantly,
2. Because of you rightous stand against California laws.

Thank you.

Mike Maloney

gosh guys, everybody is really down on my state! i know we suck when it comes to these draconian gun laws our state and local politicians have passed that make it almost impossible for top of the line gun manufacturers like STI to do business here on the west coast. it appears after it is all said and done, it has`nt stopped the dirt bags/criminals from arming themselves. but on a lighter note, what i like about the company is the customer service from david cupp and chris shrimmer. these guys will go the distance and stand by their product. ask how i know, well i have one of the first all steel VIP`s purchased from brazo`s several years ago. recently i had derek at millennium custom in florida build another. it has a les baer slide, aristocrate rear sight with a tactical 5in STI 2011 frame....not what you`d call a carry like my VIP, but hopefully i`ll get into some IDPA novice or beginner shoots this year.

Keep up the great work!

A local gun range owner intoduced me to STI by allowing me to shoot his EDGE 40. I was hooked from the very first shot.

I now own two of the 2011's and I am looking into getting a third.

The quality of your product is second to none.

I am proud of being a Floridian as we know down here, when guns are outlawed, the worst kind of outlaws will own them and will have the drop on honest folk and we will all be at the mercy of criminals! I just purchased a Ranger II, and the person I had it transfered to has ceased sales of all other 1911 pistols and is now selling solely STI. This company truely trumps all competitors. I have also been inspired to apply for my FFL and become a strong proponent in STI taking over the market. Thank you very much!

I just would have loved a 45 but at the club her in Oz we are not allowed this caliber. I look forward to taking delivery of said pistol within a month. Thanks for your most informative site. M Doust

With all due respect, why do you not list all the size specifications for your "LS" and "Rogue" compact guns? One would think if their compactness is a main reason for their marketability you'd include overall height in your spec's.
I'm shopping for another deep cover concealed weapon to carry in a "SmartCarry" holster. With this type of carry the length, height, and width are determining factors.

Maybe I missed it, but I can find no height spec's on your site. Neither can I find whether or not their width is greater through the grip than through the slide.
Thanks for your consideration,
Doc

Rock on STI! Your decision to give California the finger was spot on and the right thing to do. I know that the LE sales market is pretty small for you in CA, but that's not the point and anyone with moral integrity should be able to see that. When Mr. Barrett did the same thing after the .50cal ban in 2004, I applauded him. I don't have a use for a .50B**, but I do carry a handgun every day of my life. So when I heard about the stand STI took, I decided to support them with my money. After all, an STI 2011 is as good a carry piece as my Walther P99 (well, the STI is better, but you get the point). I am proud to say that I am now a happy owner of an aluminum-framed STI Tactical 4.15 in 9mm. I know one gun isn't much, but it's not about one person making up for your lost sales to California, it's simply about the principle of the matter. Thanks STI for making a GREAT product and also for doing the right thing.

I CAN ONLY FEEL SORRY FOR THEM, IN THE END THEIR FREEDOMS AND LIVES ARE FORFEIT . I TRULY HOPE THAT AT LEAST A FEW WILL BE PREPARED. "BROTHERS" AND "SISTERS" CALIFORNIA IS NOT THE ONLY STATE THAT IS HAVING THEIR FREEDOMS SLIPPED OUT FROM UNDERNEATH THEM. YOU NEED TO HELP THEM SEE THE ERROR OF THEIR WAYS AND SUPPORT THEM IN THEIR FIGHT FOR THEIR 2nd AMENDMENT RIGHTS. OUR FOREFATHERS MEANT FOR THESE AMENDMENTS TO BE THE BACKBONE OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE , NOT SOMETHING THAT WAS A FLASH IN THE PAN,TO BE AMENDED AND TRASHED, WITHOUT THESE RIGHTS WE SHOULD GET USED TO " SHUT UP, PUT YOUR HANDS ON THE WALL AND EMPTY YOUR POCKETS. While I appreciate your decision to not sell to CA due to their insane laws, I’d like to point out that STI’s reaction is exactly what the politicians were looking for, and got. They cannot ban firearms altogether, that’s unconstitutional. They can, however, make it so ridiculous for firearm manufactures that they no longer wish to do business in CA. Please keep the current models on the CA approved list so we can buy the firearms we want in Nevada/Arizona and FFL transfer them ourselves back to CA.

I don't blame you one iota. The only thing CA is good for these days is a laugh. Stick to your guns - metaphorically and otherwise. There are far to many politicians who are trying to make it look like they are doing something to help slow down or stop violent crimes when in reality they are doing nothing but making us all live in a "target rich" environment. I for one have no plans on being a victim. On that note, as soon as I can purchase it, I plan on acquirring one of your STI Eagles (5.0 in .45ACP). I looks like a marvelous piece of machinery and I only hope that it shoots as good as it looks. I already own one single stack custom 1911 and the Eagle 5.0 would complement that collection very well. I am counting the days.

Just read about suspending sales in CA. Outstanding move! Your owner and I met outside the NRA convention center in Hstn for a smoke break. I noticed his badge and asked what he did for STI. His reply was, "Very little. I own it." CEOs that can poke fun at themselves deserve everything they can earn. Thanks for sticking up for us.

Congrats on you dumping Calif. I have been a FFL Dealer here for over 20 years and see no end to new regulations on the dealer and our law abiding customers. I hope many more manufactures follow your path. You manufacture a GREAT PRODUCT!!!

Best Regards,
