Hi Guys,
If the Clinton/Brady “high capacity” ban sunsets, what will it do to your
business? Short term? Long term? We think that it will create an
increase in demand for normal capacity (11-30 rounds) magazines for a short
period, but do not feel that it will generate much additional business for
guns, short blocks, slide to frame fits, or frame kits. If we are wrong and
there is a large influx of that business, guns will get first priority,
shortblocks second, slide to frame fits third, etc. With the increased
capabilities that I mentioned in SGRAM #67,
(previous SGRAMS are on the website) I think we can
cover the larger assemblies.Now,
having said that, here's the question for you: If we elect to take the
steps necessary to double that increased capacity level and the ban does not
sunset, what does it take for you to double your business levels to absorb
the increased volume of product? Or to put it simply, how much higher a
volume of business would you do with us if our lead times were back down in
a 4-5 week time frame? Steadily and regularly! We will not be adding
employees for a short-term rush and then letting them go after just a few
weeks. We would also prefer to not cause you to miss a “window of
opportunity”.
We're going to shorten the “Duty One” and
5.0” “Tactical” dust cover to make it look more like everybody else's. The
4.15” gun remains the same.
The “RangeMaster” and “Duty One” style
frames, slide to frame fits, and shortblocks are now available. I wouldn't
stock up just yet, though. Due to the changing economies of scale within our
product lines, I expect to restructure the 1911 series of guns with some
pricing realignments sometime this quarter.
Have fun. Do good. Sell a
bunch. Not necessarily in that order! |
