The Continuing Evolution  of the 1911

STI -- SkinnErgram #69

August 11, 2004 SkinnErgram #69
Hi Guys,

We are discontinuing adjustable tritium night sights that fit in Novak style cuts. We'll still have fixed tritium sights that fit in that cut and adjustable tritiums that fit in the Bomar cut. We just were not happy with the tritium module that we could get installed in the adjustable Novak cut models.

We will no longer install more than ONE "alternate top end" per gun. It creates the same problems that a Custom Shop does. Slows down production. Increases scrap.

On the "Stinger", the installed red dot scope will now be the OKO "IPSC" style scope with two position slide switches and a blast shield.

Just a few other mid-year changes:

  • On the 5.5" "Eagle", discontinued . We no longer offer screw-on compensators.
  • Added a complete "Model 22XX" rifle and options.
  • Deleted "Black T" as an option.
  • Deleted "MolyCoat" finish as an option.
  • Reduced price of "Single Stack Magwell" option.
  • Added 5" "1911" style slide and frame fit using forged frame.
  • Discontinued all "bucket of parts" kits.
  • Added four "1911" frame kits.
  • Discontinued all threaded barrels.
  • Added "Model 22XX" barrel.
  • Added options to the "Model 22XX" series of parts and subassemblies.
  • Discontinued all screw on compensators.
  • Added "caliber specific" extractors.
  • Discontinued all ParaOrdnance parts.
  • Discontinued "Colored Mainspring Housings"
  • Discontinued titanium trigger bows.
  • Changed composition of "barrel link & pin set".
  • Discontinued "Universal" and "X-treme" holsters and mag pouches.
  • Added "SpeedSec" holsters and mag pouches.
  • Added various style sand colors of ball caps.

Discontinued items and options simply weren't selling. It made no sense to neither keep them in stock nor do them.

Added items and options are things that you guys have been asking for. Please keep the communication flowing.

Pauletta and I will be out of the country from August 17-31. New STI player, John Kestle, will be covering for Pauletta (at her normal Email address) and Melvin will be covering for me. ( melvin@stiguns.com ) Ed is out of country until Aug. 23. Chris will cover. ( chris@stiguns.com )

More on John in the next Sgram.

Sell a bunch. Have fun. Do good. Not necessarily in that order!
