Hi Guys,
As you may have noticed, we have added a "Where did you hear about us from?"
survey on the website. Now we will not only know which of your websites
directed information seekers to us but we hope to also find out which of the
publications that we advertise in are doing us any good.
You may or may not have noticed but, we are
adding some additional features to our website as well as doing some
updating. One of the new features that you may enjoy is the "STI Factory
Tour". It is not near completion yet but it is still interesting. If you
have any questions about what you see, please give us a call.
Based on the input we got from you folks we
will discontinue the BLS series of guns. Today , parts remain to build 29
guns, 13 guns of which are in process. When they're gone, they're gone. The
LS will continue to be a valued portion of our product line.
On the subject of the "LS", STI was an
exhibitor at the NRA Convention held in Houston , TX last weekend. Of all
the guns that we displayed there, the "LS" attracted the most attention.
After seven years on the market, people are finally starting to notice it!
You Domestic Distributors and Dealers take note! (The Lawman" was second.)
Speaking of the "Lawman", this one is
becoming very popular very quickly. If you'll check the website during the
first week in May, you should see new varieties of it in all it's new
finery. (new colors, new grips, etc.)
Product development on the "Legacy" is
coming along very well. At this point, we feel that it will be a "no option"
gun. Thoughts are:45ACP; forged, checkered frame w/ high rise beaver tail;
industry classic slide,, rear serrations (in a Colt style, but at a 17
degree angle) only and very little engraving; fully supported, ramped barrel
with bushing; ambi thumb safety; Wilson or Novak magazines; a " hard carbon
thin film coating" or black chrome finish; and a revolutionary sight system.
This sight system will consist of a set of three sights, both front and
rear, fully adjustable for windage and elevation, that is easily
interchanged without loss of point of impact. They will all be "notch &
post", three dot styles. There will be one of each of "white dot", "fiber
optic", and "tritium" sets. No pricing has been established yet. By the time
we are done with this one it will not be emulating a legacy; it will be
creating one.
The "OKO scope to C-More adapter plate" was
discontinued some time ago. I apparently neglected to remove it from the
price list. My bad!
As we continue to look at our product line
(to see what's selling and what's not) in order to better serve you, we are
finding other items whose volumes probably do not warrant their continued
existence. As an example; we have just discontinued offering the
"Aristocrat" sight on the Trojan and RangeMaster series of guns. (Probably
on the 6" Eagle also) Other things that may show up on the "to be
discontinued list" are "Alternate Caliber Top Ends", and both 1911 and 2011
"Shortblocks". Apparently our factory price, delivery, and quality on
finished guns are shrinking that market rapidly. No final decisions have
been made yet. Please let us know your opinion. One other thing of note
here, we discontinued all stainless frames and slides about three years ago.
The gun pictures on the website are current and the way the guns come now,
as is the price list. Please make sure that that is what you want before you
order.
This is worth repeating: Any of you
Europeans who shoot IPSC and who do not yet plan to travel to Philipsburg ,
Germany to participate in the "STI European Championship" match (May 26-28)
(
http://www.sti-euro-open.de/ ) are missing a good one. It will be an "IPSC
Sanctioned, Level III", two day, sixteen stage, 327 round event with
approximately 330 competitors. Pauletta and I will be there.
So is this worth repeating: Sales of the "IPSC
30 th Anniversary Commemorative" gun are going very, very well. If you've
missed it on our website, at shows and matches, etc., it is currently linked
to the World Shoot XIV (
http://www.worldshootxiv.com/ ) website and I believe that it will soon
be viewable on the IPSC website as well. (
http://www.ipsc.org ).
In fairness to the USPSA "powers that be",
it appears that I confused the issue when I inquired as to whether STI could
produce a " USPSA 30th Anniversary Commemorative" edition gun as we
are doing for IPSC For IPSC, it is the 30th anniversary, but for most
IPSC Regions, including the U.S. , 2005 is only the 20th anniversary of
their incorporation or registration. It has also come to light that USPSA
has exclusively licensed the use of its logo on pistols through all of 2006.
That being the case, do any of you have an interest in a "USPSA 20th
Anniversary Commemorative" pistol like the "IPSC 30th" except with no logo?
All other parameters would apply.
As many of you have found, even though your
STI Sales contact may tell you to "Please allow 7-10 days for shipping",
your orders frequently go out within 2-3 days. We're pretty proud of our
inventory and shipping crew in this regard, but remember, it may still take
7-10 days depending on the product ordered.
We are again, a "Gold Sponsor" for the
USPSA National Championship to be held in Barry , IL in July. We hope to see
you all there.
As I mentioned in the last
Sgram, STI is the Overall Match Sponsor for
World Shoot XIV to be held in Ecuador this August. One of the things that we
have volunteered to do, in addition to the nominal Sponsorship fees and
stuff, is to build a one of a kind pistol to be raffled off for the benefit
of the match. Our preliminary thoughts are that it will have all of the
styling, features, and options of the "IPSC 30th Anniversary" gun (with none
of the 30th Ann. engraving), (
http://www.stiguns.com/ ) plus the "World Shoot XIV" logo, completely
hardchrome with all engraving to be color inlayed, gray grip and trigger,
custom serial number " WS XIV ONLY 1 ", two hardchrome magazines, chambered
in40S&W. What do you think?
On the subject of the World Shoot, we will
be sending out press release kits to as many publications as we possibly
can. Especially you Exports; where do you want them sent?
Have fun. Do good. Sell a
bunch. Not necessarily in that order! |
