| Hi Guys,
Product development on the "Legacy" is still
coming along very well. See Sgram #77 for
details.
Things to add to the "discontinued list"
are 1911 "shortblocks" and all 10mm guns. We just haven't seen a market for
either.
Speaking of markets, we have seen a
huge resurgence in demand for the "V.I.P." That market has returned
to the point that we will go back to making them in the original
style. That was the aluminum frame/stainless slide configuration.
That will be the only stainless item that we put back in production.
We still will not be selling 3.9" slides or barrels separately.
We have also re-visited our mix and
quantity of guns that we'll attempt to keep in inventory. We'll try to stock
up on the "Lawman" in all three finishes. We will be building one last run
of "BLS's". We've upped our minimum #'s
on fourteen models. And we've chosen to try to inventory a number of the "IPSC
Commemorative" model with "STI Custom" serial numbers. All five-inch "Eagles"
built for stock from now on will be with "bushinged" barrels. Bull barreled
models will still be available, they will simply be at normal lead times.
Changes to the "TruBor"
and "GrandMaster" line of
"race guns":
- All of the foregoing guns (and
shortblocks) chambered in .38Super will come standard with the T-2 (long)
TruBor compensator.
- All other calibers (9mm, .40S&W, .45ACP,
etc.) in the foregoing will be supplied with the T-1 (short) TruBor
compensator.
- All of the foregoing will be (no
additional charge) "slide lightened".
-
There will be no
exceptions to #'s 1, 2, & 3. We will also be trying to inventory a larger
number of the 9mm and .38Super in order to shorten your lead times.
Sales of the "IPSC
30th Anniversary Commemorative" gun are going marvelously well. If
you've missed it on our website, at shows and matches, etc., it is currently
linked to the World Shoot XIV (www.worldshootxiv.com)
website and the IPSC website as well. (www.ipsc.org).
There will be no " USPSA
30th Anniversary Commemorative" edition gun as we are doing for IPSC
. USPSA has exclusively licensed the use of its logo on
pistols through all of 2006 to another (foreign) gun company.
Come see us at the
USPSA National
Championships to be held in Barry, IL in July. We're "Gold" Sponsors
again.
The "World Shoot" gun is done.
Raffle tickets have been printed and are available (and selling well) "on
line", from STI employees, and through the WS committee. Remember, it is a
one of a kind pistol. (www.stiguns.com)
(www.ipsc.org) It has all of
the expected features plus the "World Shoot XIV" logo, completely hardchrome
with all engraving color inlayed, gray grip and trigger, custom serial
number "WS XIV ONLY 1", two hardchrome magazines, and is chambered in
.40S&W. All proceeds go to the WS committee for the benefit of the match. If
the raffle winner is in or near your country, we will expect you to help in
the transfer. We'll cover the expenses, but we will need your help. If the
winner is in a country that we are unable to ship to for political or legal
reasons, we will hold it here pending the winners' directions.
Also, at the World Shoot we
will be putting rebate certificates, that we will expect you guys to honor,
in the shooters bags. Obviously, we will "make right" to you. These will be
$100.00 "Rebate Certificates" when applied to the purchase of an STI gun. We
will pass out the certificates in Ecuador. If a competitor uses it with you
toward the purchase of a gun, you collect it. When you return it to us, we
will credit your account. Simple! We hope it helps you make new friends. (If
you sweeten the pot a little more, it might help, too.)
Thanks to all of you fine
folk, we're still on the grow! We just ordered another four (4) CNC
machining centers. That brings the total number of CNC machines to twenty
(20) now, plus five (5) EDM machines, five (5) surface grinders, and all
kinds of manual mills, lathes, and small machinery. Total employment is up
to fifty-eight (58). We will be moving into an additional 8,000 square feet
of space near the end of this month and will continue working a second shift
at least through the summer. You guys keep doing your part; we'll keep doing
ours. The "Custom Shop" remains closed!
Let's start the game of "Whadda'
ya' want next year" early this year! There's no guarantee that time will
permit us to introduce new products at NASGW, SHOT, or IWA, but if we don't
start thinking now I can guarantee that we won't be able to.
Just for information, our
"Public Liaison Officer", John Kestel, has started a series of "New Product
Releases" and "Industry Announcements" on STI's behalf. Look for them in
your "mail box", industry publications, and ads. All suggestions are
welcome.
Sell a bunch. Have fun. Do
good. Not necessarily in that order! |
