The Continuing Evolution  of the 1911

STI -- SkinnErgram #89

June 15, 2006 SkinnErgram #89

Hi Guys,

It appears that we're "on a roll", so let's roll ‘em! Slimming down the current production list has continued to enhance delivery abilities AND yielded an unexpected benefit. We cleared the "recoup the tooling costs" period on the Duty One and the Duty CT much earlier than expected and can, therefore, reduce their cost to you sooner. Effective NOW , the price on these two comes down by $208.00 at the Retail level. For the benefit of you Distributors and Dealers, that means that they are now priced to you the same as the TargetMaster and the RangeMaster. Any orders you have on our books will be shipped at the new price level. What other gun company treats you this well?

Updates on the new products:

The SAA revolver will be called the "Texican". It is moving along well and should be available in the early parts of the fourth quarter. The Sales Dept. now has pricing and we have taken, are taking, and will take orders, but the delivery is still the delivery.

The 3.9" single stack gun with the Colt "Defender" length steel frame and stainless slide will be called the STI "Guardian". This one should follow our normal lead time curve and be available late in the forth quarter. The Sales Dept. now has pricing and we have taken, are taking, and will take orders, but the delivery is still the delivery.

The pre-production run of the lower priced 1911 built with many high quality STI parts, but assembled off shore is "in country". If you order now, your lead time should be early fourth quarter, but remember, this one is subject to slippage due to the "powers that be" in Washington . The Sales Dept. now has pricing and we have taken, are taking, and will take orders, but the delivery is still the delivery.

The last of the bunch, the 3.0" single stack gun with the Colt "Defender" length aluminum frame and stainless slide will be called the STI "Escort". This one will trail the other three and should be available early in the first quarter of 2007. The Sales Dept. does not yet have pricing and is not yet taking orders.

Both the "Guardian" and the "Escort" were names submitted by Mike Willis from our Quality Control Department.

We have been asked by Johnny Rowland to build a gun chambered in the ".460 Rowland" cartridge for his use on his TV program. Because it sounds like an enjoyable project, we'll do it. We had fun with the ".224 BOZ", the ".40Super", the ".45Super", and the ".50GI", so we'll play with this one, too. Anybody have a market for it?

Still a few left:

1911 gunsmith blank triggers, 1911 short curved triggers w/ titanium bows, Para Ordnance gunsmith blank triggers, Metal protective covers for the OKO red dot scope. Whatever our price to you normally is, deduct 50%. When they're gone, they're gone.

Our Match and Show schedule for the rest of the year is not totally finalized yet but as is the case every year, if it is of major significance, we'll be there.

Do good. Sell a bunch. Have fun. Not necessarily in that order!
