Hi Guys,
With one exception, all of the previously announced new products seem to be
on schedule to this point and we will be adding one additional product to
the mix. We're going to call this one the "Sentinel". It will be our
Standard bearer (double pun intended) in the USPSA Single Stack Division.
All the bells and whistles necessary for competition. Forged frame with
checkered front strap. Ambi's. Steel mainspring housing with magwell
attached. Regular grip panels. Front and rear serrations on flat topped
slide. STI adjustable sights. RecoilMaster. Comes in 9mm, .40S&W, and
.45ACP. The only options are a Dawson fiber optic front sight and hard
chrome. I think that about fills out our product line for a year or two.
Actual gun deliveries for the "Texican"
have slipped to late December. It's sad that Mr. Colt didn't have our "new
age" technologies. This one will be "competition ready" right out of the
box. I promise to post a list of features on the website soon and publish
them in the next Sgram. We just keep finding ways to make it better.
The "Spartan" should now be on the website
(any day now - webmaster)
and your scheduled shipments should start next week.
Due to a strong influx of sales during the third quarter, the "Stinger"
has survived in strong shape! Due to the same surge in orders, some of the
6" Trojans and Eagles have survived to remain "on the bubble" for another
year.
Of the 6" Trojans, the .45ACP is
on the bubble and the 9mm survives. The .38Super and the .40S&W are gone! "TargetMaster's"
have nearly killed them.
Of the 6" Eagles, the 9mm, .40S&W,
and the .45ACP are all on the bubble. The .38Super is gone.
Additional "niche" items that are now discontinued are:
Ranger II in .38Super, Duty One in 9mm and .40S&W,
Duty CT in 9mm and .40S&W, 5" Trojan SS in 9m , and all
1911 "short blocks". The "2011" short block survives!
To recap previous 2006 items that are no longer in the line up: The VIP,
Model 2200, Special Edition, and the BLS are gone.
We still have frames to build fifteen (15) "Tactical Lites". When they're
gone, they're gone.
"RangeMaster II's" are still available by SRA (Special Request
Authorization) sixteen (16) at a time.
We'll cease taking orders for the "30th
Anniversary" on Dec. 22, 2006 .
Other selected calibers in some product lines have been discontinued also,
but the likelihood that you'll notice is slim.
Additional "on the bubble's" but safe for another year (probably) are: Duty One in .45ACP, Duty CT in .45ACP,
Legacy in 9mm, and the
4.15" Tactical in all
calibers.
Obviously, with twenty-seven (27) models in the line up now, we will be
monitoring each line's performance very closely. I would expect several of
those that are "on the bubble" to not survive 2007.
As a quick aside, there will be some price adjustments in the parts lines
for 2007. Some up. Maybe some down. Probably nothing dramatic except the
C-More "click adjustable" red dot scope.
Having not gotten any reaction from any of you to my question about a 9mm
"Escort", we simply do not plan to do it in the near future.
On the "upbeat", the "Trojan SS"
has drawn enough attention and volume that we're able to reduce the price.
Down a full $150.00 at the Retail end! (.45ACP only)
Our "busiest part of the year" is not abating. It's as if the Democratic
victory in the US Congress has spurred panic buying all over again. Not just
in the US , but in Europe and Asia also. Coupled with an increased awareness
of the STI benefits by the US and Allied militaries, I again recommend that
you place your 2007 scheduled orders as soon as you are comfortable with
your 2007 business plan.
John K. has moved on. His chair, artistically as well as Customer Contact
has been filled by Michael (Rabbit) Boyett. Rabbit comes into his current
position via lengthy stints in both the Gunsmith Department and the Quality
Control/Customer Service Group. He's not a newcomer and you'll probably not
stump ‘im, he's quick.
Pauletta S. has been promoted to overall Marketing and Sales Manager while
retaining her Export Management duties and intends to do quite a bit of
cross training within the group. Hopefully you'll have "back up" contacts if
your primary contact is not available.
Speaking of "primary contacts", unless you have a warrantee or service
problem, your primary contacts are in the Sales Department. We, again, have
some of you trying to contact Production or Quality Control personnel in the
attempt to get your product moved to the head of the line. We love you all
but we love you all equally and, as such, must treat you all equally. Please
don't create internal confusion for us that will ultimately work against
everybody.
Again a reminder: If you need a "sit-down" at the Orlando show, please get
in touch with your STI contact to schedule it as soon as possible. Currently
we have scheduled Pauletta , Don, Ed, Chris, Jay (new guy) and I.

Have fun. Do good. Sell a
bunch. Not necessarily in that order! |
