STI -- SkinnErgram #95
January 29, 2007 SkinnErgram #95

Hi Guys,

As usual, a spectacular SHOT Show. The "tire kickers" stayed home and the professionals came to buy! There's a lot that I don't like about Orlando but it's always provided a great venue for us! It still amazes us the number of people who come by and ask "Who're you guys?" or "What's STI?"

Everything in our line was well received. However the "Escort", the "Tactical", and the "Spartan" drew the most attention at our booth with the "Guardian" hangin' solid. The new stuff, naturally!

Our thanks to all of you who graciously let us off the hook for not having the "Texican" complete and on display. "Thank you", too, to all of you SASS shooters who took the time to come by with helpful suggestions and recommendations. (Ya'll ain't near's weird as we'd heard.) The final production items were simply not complete. We could have displayed the pre-production models (which are great) but they were just not what we wanted to introduce to a whole new customer base.

During the show we had the pleasure of meeting and adding another Domestic Distributor. We'll be posting CFI in Ft. Worth , TX to our website list of fine distributors and friends.

We were also pleasantly surprised by the attentions (and intentions) of several small ex-Soviet bloc, soon to be EU member, firearms distributors. We'll be visiting with them at greater length at the IWA Show.

Well, I lied about not introducing any new models in 2007. The U nited S tates P ractical S hooting A ssociation has now asked us to build the "ultimate" guns for their "Single Stack" and "Limited" Divisions. It is both appreciated and appropriate since we historically represent more than 50% of those guns at major matches. After listening to all of the nifty ideas from the folks here, we've come up some neat "take offs" that closely emulate our new "Sentinel" and "Legend" products for this purpose.

We keep being asked, by USPSA shooters, when we are going to recognize "Single Stack" Division for the "Contingency Rewards" program. The short answer has to be: "Not until it looses its' provisional status in the rules." When Single Stack attains Division status, we'll probably discontinue "Limited-10". The number of Divisions is just becoming unmanageable.

If you are receiving this "Skinn E rgram" e lectronically for the first time, you need to go to www.stiguns.com and catch up on back issues.

Have fun. Do good. Sell a bunch. Not necessarily in that order!
