| Hi Guys,
Well, under the heading of "Time flies when
you're having fun": The STI Edge has
been in production for ten (10) years now. Can you believe that it's been
the most used gun in USPSA "Limited" and IPSC "Standard" Divisions for that
long? That certainly gave us a base to build on!
Just a reminder to all of you, the only
remaining guns on which custom serial numbers are available are the "Edge"
and the "Eagle". Please stop asking
our sales folks to bend the rules. Thank you!
There is a distinct possibility that custom
serial #'s will be offered on Short Blocks, Slide to Frame Fits, and Frames
in SRA quantities (16X) only soon. No singles! Just a reminder, too,
that custom serial numbers are not available on single stack frames or
assemblies unless you are an O.E.M. ordering under a BATF "Variance".
Price increases on all slides, 1911 frames,
"2011" frames and all the things that they go into, except guns and short
blocks , go into effect TODAY . We held the price for 13 years with
STI absorbing all of the price increases in steel, polymers, fine
blanks, screw machining, cutting tools, molding, and labor. Those orders on
the books currently are good at the agreed old price. New orders entered
from this date will be at the new price.
Realizing that many of you who publish
annual catalogs and price lists have gone to press with this years
publication (but with us all understanding that all prices of all things are
subject to change without notice) we apologize that we couldn't give you
more notice. The study just took a lot longer than we anticipated and we
just didn't want a lot of rumor and speculation about what we were going to
do. All things considered, it is a lot less dramatic than I expected that it
would need to be.
Effective April 1, 2007 , STI will cease
accepting payment from Distributors by credit card. You guys are
businessmen enough to do the math. Please adjust your internal procedures
appropriately. No changes at the moment for Dealers.
Shame on me! It's been three years ( March
2, 2004 ) since this was last mentioned (in Sgram
#63, last paragraph) and we have added a very large number of
Distributors and Preferred Dealers since. The way our production management
software works is this: We put in an order and it gets scheduled. If you
want to change the order after it's placed, the old order is cancelled and
the new (changed) order is entered and takes its' place at the end of the
"on order" list. This is just a reminder that if you don't order exactly
what you want the first time, you loose your place in line. Your customers
need to understand that, also.
Welcome to "EF-Security" of Finland and to
"Phoenix Group" on Malta , our newest non-US Distributors. You're in very
good company.
