Richard Heinie’s business credo is simple: Build a shooting tool that is utterly reliable using the finest designs and competition-proven materials, and take as long as is necessary to do. Don’t bother asking him to rush, because ho won’t. Heinie is like an 18th Century craftsman: old-fashioned, meticulous, through. Is this era of eight-round revolvers, modular frames and red-dot sights, Heinie is an anachronism. A member of the prestigious American Pistolsmiths Guild, he’s a USPSA Master-class shooter known for his incomparable attention to detail. Heinie’s guns are as immaculately clean as his workplace, where this pistolsmith often dons long sleeves and a necktie. Send him your 1911-type gun, and you’ll get it back- a few years later- looking almost the same, except for a few extra accessories for improved performance. The most significant refinements lie within, where the parts have been expertly crafted to fin and work in perfect unison. If a gun doesn’t meet his personal standards, Heinie won’t sell it. |
