The Continuing Evolution  of the 1911   

This former drag racer’s fascination with precision and speed sparked his interest in speed-shooting and eventually led to his reputation as a top purveyor of full-power pistols.

In the early ‘80s, Steve Nastoff was the holder of a national drag racing record when he fell in love with action shooting. After becoming a Master-class shooter, he began customizing his 1911 semi-autos to gain a competitive edge.

Top shooters were dazzled by Nastoff’s winning race guns and lined up for his flawless workmanship. The demand for his services was so overwhelming, Nastoff was forced to stop shooting.

The handsome guns crafted by Nastoff’s Gun Shop may not have racing strips, but they’re hand-fitted by the master pistolsmith himself. "I deal in ‘good ol’ boy’ fashion,” he says, "which is probably why my customers are always satisfied.”
